Hello, I'm new to the site. I've been searching for the similar bell in the picture for my gate. Any idea where to buy one like it? Thanks.
click on the link for the picture. Thanks.

Macnhuloi, welcome..
I would be inclined to ask someone from the Resources page:
     http://www.japanesegardening.org/resources/

just click on the links:
either Japanese Style
Jake Hobson, likely can find one for you..
or Yasuimoku Company

if those do not work, something else can be worked out through other avenues through the forum.

Mac
The Portland Japanese Garden gift store has a bell similar

I have also seen some made by a Washington State source at the Seattle Flower Show usually on the top floor as you go into the orchid room

I made an entrance bell for my garden from an old bronze ringside boxing bell.  The hammer hanging beside it is an antique Japanese bell hammer.

I posted a picture of it in the gallery. http://www.japanesegardening.org/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=2153

Thanks Geoffrey, that's looked fantastic. Will post some my gardent pictures soon when I learn how to post pictures. Thanks for all.

Would you consider a separate structure to hold the bell and hammer?

Aloha macnhuloi, I recognize the bell in your picture from one of my many Internet searches. While I can't tell you who made that one I can tell you that is made from a recycled gas cylinder. There are a lot of people making and selling them on the Internet. There's information on you tube on how to cut one so you can make your own. Search for things like Japanese garden bell cylinder bell, oxygen tank bell.  I want to make my own. If you decide to make one please read and head all the safety warnings. I hope that helped. Good hunting hope you find your bell. 8)

Hi Alphabetty, great suggestion. Time to visit local store to find the cylinder for a friend welder to make one. Will update soon.

Here's the bell at the entrance to Kubota Garden in Seattle. Tools are all laid out for last weekends work party of 49 volunteers.

Oxman and Don -

Now, THAT is the way to present a bell!

Well, It's been about a month so I thought I'd check back to see how you are progressing on getting your bell. Anything new?
