I was wondering if anyone had first hand knowledge of the Japanese Gardening Intensve Seminar that is offered in the fall. It is my understanding that the seminar for 2011 had been postponed till 2012.(before the current situation in Japan occurred)  My question is? Is the seminar open to anyone with an interest in Japanese Gardening. Do you have to have a professional background in horticulture to be excepted?

Appreciate any information.

I want to start preparing now and brush up on my Japanese.

Domo arigato,

Patch,.. it is my understanding that the seminars are still organized such that: no, you do not need to be a professional to attend the Seminars, those with passionate interest also attend. Unless there is a change proposed in this for 2012.
I'm sure you already followed this link and add it here for others reading about the Seminars:

and for the announcement change of 2011 to 2012:
should we check deeper? this can be done..                edzard

Thank you. I think for now there is no need to check deeper.
I will check back at the site in a few months to see if there are any updates.
This will give me more time to prep. Finacially and Academically.
