Hi from upstate NY
« on: June 30, 2012, 12:50:25 PM »
Hi. I'm from Chatham, NY a small town not far from Albany.  I have admired the Japanese style of garden since visiting the Portland gardens years ago. They remind me of the natural forests in the Adirondacks in spring, lots of green moss before summer head dries it out. I have a tiny corner or our yard that I am attempting to give the Japanese style to. I'm sure I will be asking lots of questions.

Welcome Michael,
Don, is that a phrase from a limerick, or did you really get this far north?

Her father I'm told walked with a limp and was bald.

I really did - but i am enjoying the limerick!  "and he had me dropped off in the deep sea?"

Anyway, welcome to the forum!

Don, I thought it went,

"and he had me dropped off in the deep BLUE sea
then watched me bob away from Poughkeepsie."

I also heard "The women of Poughkeepsie take their cloths off when they're tipsy!"  (Sulpher to Sugarcane)

I guess I am just naughty to remind you of that lyric.  I think I hear a few chuckles though.

Sorry for the silliness Michael,  Welcome to our forum!
