Hi,

I'm Pete from the dry side of Washington state.  A couple of years ago I visited the Japanese garden in Portland and was totally blown away. Now I am trying to create my own garden.

Welcome to mJG Pete!!!!

I am on the "not so dry" side.  I prefer "maritime"  ;)

Portland Garden is a neat place.........  I find new things every time I go there.

Spokane has Nishinomiya Gardens if that is a little closer to you and CWU has a Japanese Garden on site as well.  Check them out if you have not done so already.  They may give you an idea of what works in your climate versus the cooler (and wetter) climate that is Portland.
