Hi from Cuernavaca Mexico
« on: June 20, 2010, 12:28:06 PM »
I live south of Mexico City in Cuernavaca and am currently building a house, which will have an Omote Senke Tea House. I would like to build a japanese tea garden surrounding the tea house.

After long searches on the internet I finally found the Japanese Gardening forum, which I belive is very dedicated and knowledable about all relevant to Japanese Graden.  If there is anyone with advice on designing and building a garden for a tea house, possibly with a wabi sabi inclination, I would deeply apprechiate your help and guidance.

Best Regards, Stephan

Stephan... welcome to the forum..
but please don't build a teahouse like that... or a garden...
it is simply not in the taste of Omote Senke..
ask the questions for what you may need and we'll see about answering them...

while "building a house" is the second best time to talk to the gardeners.   ;D     edzard

Welcome Stephan!  If you have photos of the site for the tea house and garden, please post them in the design forum.  Then maybe some of the members can assist.

Hi Edzard,

Yes you got me. My wife is from the Omotesenke school it will be for her, her teacher and guests.  I'm just there to do the physical work on and in the garden. Which I love.  I traveled many times to Japan and was always taken by the simplicity, art and inspiring beauty and harmony by even the smallest gardens.  I have look at many garden plans, but i can't find a way how to give a soul (for lack of better terms) of the garden.

The teahouse will be a part of the house, but in a a quite corner of the place away from the street. The house is still in raw construction phase and hopefully ready by end of the year.

What would be you advice me to do?  ???

Gracias, Stephan

Hi Don, thank you for welcoming me,

Right now it is all in the head and making it's way to the drawing board. Once I have something presentable I will post it in the forum.

Kind Regards, Stephan
